Overview
The Scrabble Summit Cup is the ultimate year-end invitational championship, featuring the world’s top 24-ranked players in an exclusive battle for supremacy. At the peak of the Scrabble
competitive calendar, The Summit Cup celebrates brilliance, mastery, and the pursuit of word excellence at the highest level.
Qualifiers will be determined solely by the new WESPA Year to Date (YTD) ranking system at the end of each calendar year. The championship will always be held on the first weekend of December, alongside a separate international tournament (WESPA OPEN) to attract Scrabble players from all over the world. There will be an award gala dinner to wrap up the championship and end the year on a high.
Qualifying Period
October 1 (Previous Year) – September 30 (Current Year). Qualifiers are determined via the WESPA Year-to-Date (YTD) Ranking System. organisers, while setting international standards for Scrabble.
Eligibility Criteria
- Top 24 players on the YTD Rankings as of September 30th of the Scrabble calendar year.
- Must be registered and paid-up members of WESPA federations
- Must have played 60+ rated games during qualifying period
- Must not be under any disciplinary ban
- Must sign a code-of-conduct undertaking
* Ineligible or unavailable players lose their spot to the next eligible players on the YTD rankings system.
Championship Format
The Top 4 players proceed to Knock-Out stages after 23 RR and the rest of the field play 3 KOTH rounds.

Dress Code Policy
Tournament Arena
Players and officials are expected to dress neatly and professionally throughout the championship.
Gala Dinner
The dress code for the award gala dinner is strictly BUSINESS CASUAL.
DO NOT WEAR
Shorts or knickers and rubber sandals/slippers will not be allowed in the playing arena (for players and officials) at any point during the championship. Any player or official who is not appropriately dressed for the award gala dinner will be denied entry into the ballroom.
